Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team defeated West Indies in the first ODI and once again went on to face the hosts in the second ODI at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on 24th July, Sunday. Winning the toss, the skipper of West Indies, Nicholas Pooran opted to bat.
Batting first, West Indies posted a huge total of 311 runs on the board. Shai Hope has played an instrumental role, scoring 115 runs with the help of 8 fours and three sixes. Nicholas Pooran also played a fighting knock in the middle for his team and added 74 off 77 balls which includes one boundary and 6 sixes.
Chasing the target, India took the game till the last over with Axar Patel on the crease who finished the match and remained unbeaten on 64 runs from 35 balls with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. With that, India took the lead by 2-0 and will be looking to whitewash the West Indies in the final One-day game.

After clinching their second victory in this series, Shikhar Dhawan looked happy in the post-match presentation. "It was a great team performance. Boys didn't lose the self-belief, that is amazing.
Iyer, Sanju, Axar everyone was amazing, Even Avesh came out in his debut game and scored those 11 important runs. Thanks to IPL, they perform on a huge stage.
I felt that we bowled nicely. They got off to a good start. Hope and Pooran batted well. We thought if they could do it, we knew that we could do it," Shikhar Dhawan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"We started a little slow. Shubman batted well. The Iyer-Samson partnership made a huge difference. There was a run-out. But these things happen. Boys are learning. Thanks to the support staff as well.
They have been doing a tremendous job. It was a great feeling when I scored a 100 in my 100th ODI game. I would want to congratulate Hope for doing the same," said Dhawan.
Besides, during the game, Shreyas Iyer took a stunning catch of Rovman Powell as the right-handed batter smashed a powerful shot towards the long-off region. It was a good catch from Shreyas Iyer which helped his side to get rid of the dangerous Windies batter.
