T20 World Cup 2022: "Is the umpire blind" - Netizens react after third umpire's poor decision during Netherlands vs Namibia match

After thrashing Sri Lanka in their opening game, the Netherlands once again come up with a close encounter against Namibia in the 5th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Having a look at the game, Gerhard Erasmus, the skipper of Namibia won the toss and opted to bat.

Batting first, Namibia batters have been dominated by the opposition bowlers and restricted them to 121 runs at the end of 20 overs. Jan Frylinck has scored 43 runs and helped his side to reach a decent total on the board.

Chasing the total posted by the opposition, openers, Max ODowd and Vikramjit Singh have provided a good start to their side, adding 59 runs for the opening wicket.

After the fall of both the openers, Bas de Leede looked set on the other end and finished the game for his side, remaining unbeaten on 30 runs. With this win, the Netherlands has been at the top of the table winning two back-to-back wins in this T20 World Cup 2022.

We knew that Namibia has some good death bowlers: Scott Edwards

After defeating Namibia, the skipper of the Netherlands side looked happy with his team's performance and shared a few words in the post-match presentation. "We're known as a side that plays hard till the last few balls. We did well in terms of front-loading the runs.

We knew that Namibia has some good death bowlers in these conditions. It got a bit closer than we'd have liked, but it's still good. It's about now winning that third game of cricket," Scott Edwards was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Never nice to be on the losing side when it's so close. We put a good show in the field. With the bat, it seemed difficult for both sides but they ran better than us. There were enough stages in the game where we didn't put enough contact on the bat and didn't move things better," said Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus.

During the game, controversies have been raised by the netizens after a poor decision by the third umpire Stephan Baard who was given out despite there being an edge caught on Snicko.
