PSL 2022: Watch - Shaheen Afridi lifts up Mohammed Rizwan after guiding Lahore Qalandars in their title win against Sultan Multans
The final match of the Pakistan Super League 2022 has been played between the in-form Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars at Lohore on 27th February, Sunday. Lahore Qalandars posted a challenging total of 180 runs after deciding to bat by winning the toss.
Mohammad Hafeez was their top-scorer who added 69 runs followed by Harry Brook's unbeaten 41 runs. In the end, David Wiese played a quickfire inning of 28 runs from just 8 balls, as he smashed 3 sixes and a four for his side.
Following the total, Multan Sultans didn't live up to the expectations of the fans as they have been defeated by Shaheen Afridi's Lahore Qalandars by 42 runs.
Tim David and Khushdil Shah tried their best in the middle but failed to finish the game as none of the other cricketers contributed well enough from the other end. However, Shaheen Afridi becomes the young captain to win a title in the Pakistan Super League.

After losing the final match against Shaheen Afridi's Lahore Qalandars, Mohammad Rizwan the skipper of Sultan Multans and the player of the tournament said, "The two teams in the finals are totally deserving of the title.
There's always pressure in the final and the team that handles the pressure well wins the game. The way Hafeez handled the pressure was the turning point. They took the game deep and soaked up the pressure much better than us.

It's a great learning opportunity for a lot of them. We are humans and mistakes do happen, so it's overall a learning curve for all of us as a team," Mohammad Rizwan was quoted by Cricbuzz.
Moreover, Shaheen Shah Afridi was also looked very happy in the post-match presentation as he said, "It's a great achievement. We have been waiting for 6 years and I want to thank the Lahore crowd. They have come out in numbers and supported us throughout.
A lot of people supported me, Hafeez guided me during lot of pressure moments so thanks to all who supported me. The fight we showed as a team throughout the tournament is really fantastic and we had that attitude to fight till the last ball," said Shaheen Afridi as quoted by Cricbuzz.
