IPL 2022, PBKS vs GT: Watch - Hardik Pandya loses his cool with David Miller after getting run out by Bairstow

After defeating Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings went for the challenger against Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League. Winning the toss, Hardik Pandya asked the opposition to bat.

Batting first, Punjab Kings posted a total of 189 runs with the help of Liam Livingstone's 64 and Rahul Chahal and Arshdeep Singh have done well by coming down the order and added 27 runs for the last wicket.

Chasing 190 runs, Shubman Gill started pretty well against the opposition bowlers and scored 96 runs for his side. However, he missed his well-deserved century by just 4 runs.

In the final over of the game, Gujarat Titans needed 19 runs as the match went till the last two balls. With Rahul Tewatia on the strike, Odean Smith had to defend 12 runs off 2 balls but the left-hander just turned the face of the match by smashing two sixes over the mid-wicket region.

Rahul Tewatia's another unforgettable moment:

After losing the match against Gujarat Titans, the skipper of Punjab Kings backed Odean Smith for his final over and also claimed that the team will be backing him for the next game as well.

"It was a tough game but we really fought hard. We were 5-7 runs short but we pulled it back after the start they had. There were a lot of positives for us. We did really well to get ourselves to that score after losing so many wickets, so we were very happy with that.

We fought really hard on the field. It was great execution by both of them (Rabada and Arshdeep), fantastic effort by them to pull the game, they really got us in the game," Mayank Agarwal was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Last over could have been anyone's game. We totally back Odean, it's fine, he probably had a hard game but that's fine. We back him a 100%.

It's just a game of cricket, it could be a bitter one to swallow but it's fine. The talk in the group is we always back the guys. If he has a bad day, he has bad day, no worries, we back him 100%," he added.

However, during the final over of the game when Gujarat Titans needed 19 off just 6 balls, Jonny Bairstow run out Hardik Pandya when he was trying to take the single from the bowler's end. But the right-hander wanted David Miller to stay in the crease until the ball hits the stumps.
