ENG vs IND Live: Watch - Matty Potts cleans up Virat Kohli by making a mess of his stumps
The most awaited Test match between England and India has kicked off on 1st July, Friday at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. The skipper of England, Ben Stokes won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first.
Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings with Shubman Gill without Rohit Sharma. James Anderson provided the first breakthrough for India by sending back Shubman Gill for 17 runs.
The right-arm pacer continued his domination over Cheteshwar Pujara as he got him for the 5th time in his career. After his dismissal, Matty Potts got both the wickets of Hanuma Vihari and Virat Kohli for 20 and 11 runs.
Shreyas Iyer also returned to the dressing room after being dismissed by James Anderson on 15 runs. However, Virat Kohli walked back to the pavilion as he got out disappointingly. He wanted to leave the ball but the decision was late and the ball got the edge of the bat and hits the stumps.
How long has it been since he got three figures: Michael Vaughan
Before the start of the match, the former England skipper, Michael Vaughan reckoned that Virat Kohli was the player to watch out for at the Edgbaston Test.
However, India did not have a good time at this venue, as they lost six out of the seven matches they played here and one ended in a draw. Michael Vaughan shared a few words about the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, saying, "The Indian player to look out for at Edgbaston is Virat Kohli.
Just go back a few years when he produced one of the greatest Test match century on this ground. I think he’s due. When you look back, how long has it been since he got three figures?
It’s been a long long while for Virat Kohli, if he can get to 30, I reckon he’s gonna get that three figures that he’s been desperately wanting for such a long period of time," Michael Vaughan was quoted as saying CricTracker.
