"Why should he go to India A tour, why can’t he play a Test match at home?" - Ajay Jadeja

The former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has slammed the Indian team selectors for not picking Hanuma Vihari ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand. The first Test is going to conclude on 25th November, Thursday in Kanpur.

The second and final Test will be played in Mumbai by December 3, as it is likely to be part of the World Test Championship. Coming to the point, Hanuma Vihari has performed well during the pressure situations that we witnessed in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21.

The series took place in Australia where India went on to conquer the historic series by 2-1. Hanuma Vihari has fought hard during the Sydney Test even after having a hamstring injury and scored 23 off 166 balls which helped his side to end up the Test in a draw. After that, he is yet to feature in the longest format of the game for his nation.

I don’t expect anything but turners that we have seen: Ajay Jadeja

The former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja is not happy with the national selectors, as they dropped Hanuma Vihari even after performing well under crunch situations of the game. The right-handed all-rounder has represented the nation in 12 Tests where he amassed 624 runs that he played at an average of 32.84.

During an interaction with Cricbuzz, Ajay Jadeja explained, "Vihari, poor guy. He did well. He has been with Indian cricket for a while, done well. What has he done wrong? Why should he go to India A tour, why can’t he play a Test match at home? Or don’t send him on A tour also. Somebody who has been with the team, now goes to India A tour and a new guy comes in. That’s messing with people’s minds."

"I don’t expect anything but turners that we have seen. Last few series at home, we have seen pitches that were not Test standard. New Zealand will be tested with their skills in how to play spin. I have no doubt India will send them packing," Ajay Jadeja added.
