Rohit Sharma is likely to lead India in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand

 

After the completion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Team India is all set to clash with New Zealand in a three-match T20I series on November 17.

The star players like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and a few more are expected to be rested ahead of the series.

Moreover, some of the sources claim that Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian cricket team in the T20s against New Zealand. A lot of speculations also suggests that Rohit Sharma would take over the captaincy from Virat Kohli and will lead Team India in the T20Is and ODIs.

However, Virat Kohli and his men will be playing their last T20I under the leadership of Virat Kohli on November 8th against Namibia. Venkatesh Iyer is expected to join the squad over Hardik Pandya who is looking in very good form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to join with Team India ahead of the New Zealand series:

Talking about the spin department, Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar will continue to lead the spin attack in the upcoming T20I series against the Kiwis.

The Maharashtra-based batsman, Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to open the innings along with Rohit Sharma if he gets an official call from BCCI. With the presence of Ishan Kishan in the team, India doesn't need any other openers for the three-match series.

Shreyas Iyer is expected to be backed by the team management and could do his duties in the middle-order of his side. Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna are the pacers to be joined with the team, as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested.
