Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson exposed to the cruelest press conference

Kiwi captain Kane Williamson might see the funny side of it - but that doesn't make this post-game press conference any less gruesome. Just minutes after his team was beaten by Australia in the T20 World Cup final on Monday morning, the star batter was subjected to a moment of torture while facing the media inside the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Black Caps leader was typically noble in his post-game comments and paid tribute to the Australian team, which peaked in the short time to complete an exciting pre-game chase of 173 New Zealand players with seven balls. It was an emotional win for Justin Langer's team celebrating Australia's first T20 World Cup win - and it came after a preliminary round in which the team had no answers to their fights in the shortest format of the sport. Unfortunately for Williamson, he saw the full depth of Australia's emotional liberation when he sat down for his press conference while the screams and chants from the nearby Australian locker room pounded through the walls.

He sat down with a smile on his face and kept his expression stoic, though the Australian cheers in the middle of one of his replies almost drowned him out. At the six-minute mark of the video below, Williamson finally breaks a smile when he couldn't hold it together anymore. "Australia played really, really well and you can hear them partying next door," he said with a sarcastic grin and shake of his head. "And rightly so. They had a fantastic campaign. They are a team full of great players and they really got their way today."

Williamson interrupted a journalist as he was reminded of New Zealand's three defeats in the World Cup final and said, "What about the championship final?" He was referring to this year's win at the conclusion of the Test Championship against India in England.

"You sign up to play the game and you win and you lose, and those are things that can happen any day," Williamson told reporters. “You know, if you look at the whole campaign that we are doing and the type of cricket we have been able to play, I can say that we are very proud of our efforts during this time.

“You get to the final and anything can happen. You may have mentioned the white ball in 2019 which could be a lengthy discussion if you have some time. ”Williamson admitted that Australia deserved the win on Sunday as they pursued their 173 goal due to the lack of just two wickets .

“It would of course have been nicer to be on the right side of the result. But Australia played really well and you can hear them partying next door and rightly so. “You had a fantastic campaign. They are a team full of great players and they really took off today. " New Zealand caught up shortly after its opening defeat to Pakistan, winning 4 straight Super 12 video games with tempo bowlers Trent Boult and Tim Southee messing up their opponents.

Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell and Williamson scored over 200 runs during the game, with Jimmy Neesham advancing with a great cameo of their semi-final win over England. Williamson mentioned that they will be looking for features for the T20 World Cup in Australia the following year.

"The big picture is most important, and it's trying to keep improving as a group," said Williamson.

"I thought we came here with some relatively - or a mixture of experience and younger players, many of them are at a World Cup for the first time, they have played extremely well and are much better for the experience they have." and there is a lot of growth here. "
