IPL 2021: BCCI to cut half of the salary amount if foreign cricketers don't take part in UAE leg

 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called off the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League after witnessing the rising number of cases in the competition. Moreover, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier of Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad's wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha, the experienced spinner Amit Mishra from Delhi Capitals and the batting coach of Chennai Super Kings, Michael Hussey has been tested positive during the pandemic.

So, the IPL Governing Council and BCCI didn't show interest in conducting the Indian Premier League in India. They have planned to organize the remaining games at United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the September window before ICC T20 World Cup arrives. 

Pat Cummins and a few more will get half amount if they don't join in UAE:

Considering the recent reports, the final leg of the Indian Premier League will be rescheduled at United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the September window. But there is a frequently complicated situation for conducting the league is that the overseas players are unlikely to take part in the final leg of UAE.

According to that, BCCI has announced that only half of the salary amount will be given to foreign players if they don't take part in the league. Kolkata knight Riders' costliest buy Pat Cummins also announced that he is not available for the final leg of IPL.

The Sydney Morin Herald stated that "Cummins, despite a multi-million dollar IPL contract, has already said he will not return to the T20 tournament this season." KKR signed the Australian pacer for INR 15.5 crore and will get only half of the salary amount.

As per the reports from Inside Sports. BCCI stated that "Yes it is correct, in case they (foreign players) can’t make it to UAE for IPL, franchises will be within their right to cut their salaries and pay them only on a PRO-RATA basis."
