IND vs NZ: Deep Dasgupta wants Mohammed Siraj to replace Ishant Sharma for the second Test

Deep Dasgupta, the former Indian cricketer has opined that Ishant Sharma should be replaced by Mohammed Sharma ahead of the second Test against New Zealand which is going to be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The veteran bowler has didn't looked in a good flow during the first Test against New Zealand that was held at the Green Park in Kanpur. Notably, the 33-year-old bowled 22 overs for the side but failed to give the breakthrough when the team needed from him.

So, Deep Dasgupta wants Mohammed Siraj for the upcoming Test match against New Zealand who is well fit to bowl a long spell. The former had a Q & A session on his YouTube Channel where he said, "I saw him bowl just a while ago on the ground, bowling was not an issue anyway. I think his non-bowling arm was injured and had stitches. So, there is a good chance that Siraj is fit. If that is the case, then Siraj might come in place of Ishant."

Deep Dasgupta wants Mayank Agarwal to bat at No.3:

After Cheteshwar Pujara's back to back failures in the home and away Tests, the renowned commentator stated that India must try Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill to bat in the middle-order for the team.

Moreover, he also concluded that Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mayank Agarwal can bat at no.3 for India in the longest format of the game. "In the middle order, there are several players in the pipeline. There is Shreyas Iyer, then Shubman Gill, who I feel is more suited to the middle order in red-ball cricket.

Then there’s Hanuma Vihari. Another option is one of the openers playing at No.3. Mayank Agarwal plays spin well, he can be considered at No.3. You need someone at No.3 who can play seam and spin well. No.3 becomes trickier than No.5 at this point. Even Ruturaj as well," Deep Dasgupta said.

Though picking nine wickets during the final day of the match, India had to return with a draw due to the bad light signal from the on-field umpires. Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel almost played around 10 overs at the end of the day and helped their side to draw the match.
