Australian coach Justin Langer says having fun on and off the field was key to the team's breathtaking T20 World Cup win

Australian coach Justin Langer has shown his team's ability to "hug for fun" and their love for one another has helped them achieve T20 World Cup glory. Skeptics gave the Australians little chance of success at the start of the tournament after two wins from 10 lead-in matches, with players who were not in shape and not exactly ideally prepared.

The critics also approached them early after moderate efforts in the warm-up games and lack of performance from star players, including opener David Warner, who finished as player of the tournament, and with questions about the composition of the team.

But Langer said living in a bubble in Dubai allowed its players to block out the outside noise and the coach, who himself was under the pump, said the bond the players developed carried them through the tournament. "We have some great cricketers here, we haven't had an opportunity to play together in the last 12 months for various reasons. When we all got back together it was almost like seeing each other again," said Langer. “There are so many close relationships. It's a very special moment for everyone.

“When we got back together we knew how talented we were. This is for one. I mean, there is tremendous talent in this team. In this situation where everyone is talking about bubbles, these guys were having so much fun on and off the floor.

“In this form of game, actually cricket, it's important to have fun and enjoy it, and that's what the guys did. I think it was a really important part of our success here. " The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis said that "love" in the group is as important as their ability.

"The key this group of boys, we really love each other,"  "It's nice. I can't wait to continue playing with this team. I'm so proud of them. You won't find any bigger supporters for Mitch Marsh than here and probably his family. We're so happy for him."

Langer also recognized Mitch Marsh as his player of the match in the finals, one of the players who appeared as the missing piece of the T20 puzzle on tours of the West Indies and Bangladesh, tours that otherwise didn't do much. “When we did this series in the West Indies and Bangladesh, a few parts were missing. And Mitch Marsh took one of those pieces. And he was brilliant, ”he said.

“And Josh Hazlewood, well, he didn't play the last one-day World Championship because he had some problems with his back. He got in here, he was great, so it was just a great team effort. "
