Aqib Javed reveals what Rashid Khan said about Syed Faridoun's future
Director of Cricket Operations and Lahore Qalandars Head Coach Aaqib Javed has revealed what Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has said about Syed Faridoun, a new rising star at Lahore Qalandars High-Performance Center.
Faridoun, 19, is the third product in Qalandars' player development program, which will represent the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL) after Haris Rauf and Dilbar Hussain.
Aaqib, speaking on a video posted by Qalandars on social platforms, said he was amazed by Rashid's remarks about a young left arm wrist spinner.
"During the second phase of PSL 2021, Rashid Khan surprised me by saying, 'Aaqib Bhai, notice my words, this boy will be the number one bowler for Pakistan in three years' time, which was very shocking to me too a year and a half journey he has achieved Melbourne Stars, "said Aaqib Javed.
Meanwhile, Faridoun also recalled his memories with Rashid during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six in Karachi and Abu Dhabi.

"I met Rashid Khan there for the first time which was very useful. I learned a lot from him along with fellow leg spinners like Maaz Khan by asking a lot of questions about bowling and he was very responsive and kind to answer those questions . " said Faridoun.
It must be noted that Faridoun is currently in Australia and will make his debut in T20 competitive cricket for the first time in his small career so far. He was part of the Lahore U19 team and was also part of the Central Punjab U19.
It was originally selected via a virtual scouting program last year when the government imposed a lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. During the first wave of Covid-19, Lahore Qalandars was unable to start a nationwide hunt as part of their annual player development program and asked the children to record their talent and send in the videos.
