Kapil Dev Wants Sanju Samson To Bring Consistency In His Game
Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev has spoken out about Sanju Samson, who is currently struggling with consistency issues. In the recently concluded Indian Premier League, he had no impact. Despite leading the Rajasthan Royals to the final, he was chastised for his below-par batting.
The Indian selectors did not include him in the T20I series against South Africa. Kapil Dev is concerned about the wicketkeeper-form. During the IPL 2022 season, the right-handed batsman scored 458 runs. However, only two of his starts resulted in big scores.
Furthermore, the majority of cricket fans want Samson to be considered for the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. His current form, however, hasn't been particularly impressive.
Samson was chosen by the Indian team management for the final T20I series against Sri Lanka. He has not, however, been named to the squad for the South Africa series.
“I am disappointed with Sanju Samson. He is so talented. He does well in one or two matches and then he does not do anything.
If you talk about wicketkeepers, they’re all almost the same. But if you talk about being the better batter, on a given day, all four can win you matches,” Kapil Dev said on ‘Uncut’.
Since his T20I debut in 2015, he has represented India in 13 games, with a batting average of 14.5. He received his highest score of 39. Sanju Samson played for Team India in 1 ODI and 13 T20Is, scoring 46 and 174 runs, respectively. He has yet to make an appearance in international cricket.
