Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders have kicked off their campaign on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
After asked to bat first by David Warner, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana opened for Kolkata Knight Riders as Rana straightaway hit a boundary of the first ball bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Following that, Shubman Gill continued the trend by doing the same in his next over. However, he has been removed by Rashid Khan for 15 runs.
Rahul Tripathi joined the 27-year-old and added 83 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership before being dismissed by Natarajan for 53 runs. Andre Russell and Nitish Rana followed him in back to back overs and been removed by the SRH bowlers for 5 and 80 runs respectively.
Before that, Rana who top-scored for his side had been lucky after a miss-timed shot which called a dead ball by the umpire. It was in the spell of Rashid Khan as the ball got hit by the spider cam that resulted in a dead ball.

At the end of the first innings, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 187 runs with the help of Dinesh Karthik's 22 from 9 balls as well. Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost both their openers David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha for cheap.
Then Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey took the charge and steadied the ship before the dismissal of the English cricketer. Manish Pandey stood till the end of the innings and remained unbeaten on 65 runs.
However, Kolkata Knight Riders have won the game and are going to face Mumbai Indians at the same venue on Tuesday.
Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand is all set to clash with the Virat-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in their upcoming game. We can expect a tough bat and ball contest between these two teams on Wednesday.
