IPL 2021: KKR's Prasidh Krishna tests positive for Covid-19

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has been postponed by BCCI. They already postponed yesterday's game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore as Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were tested positive for the deadly virus.

Today, the Delhi Capitals' experienced spinner Amit Mishra and Sunrisers Hyderabad's wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha have also tested positive of COVID-19.

Considering the ongoing situation, BCCI has suspended the IPL and are looking to conduct the final leg of the competition in September before ICC T20 World Cup arrives. Moreover, Chennai Super Kings' batting coach Michael Hussey has been tested positive for Covid-19.

In addition to that, the wicket-keeper batsman, Tim Seifert has also contracted the deadly virus which was confirmed by the New Zealand Cricket. The new entrant to the list is none other than the young pacer of Kolkata Knight Riders Prasidh Krishna.

Prasidh Krisha has contracted with Covid-19:

According to the recent reports from ESPN Cricinfo and a few more, the 25-year-old has been affected by the coronavirus. Before that, the New Zealand batsman Tim Seifert was the last one to being infected by the deadly virus.

It was confirmed by the New Zealand Cricket's Chief Executive, David White who has stated that "Once Seifert has undergone treatment and the statutory period of isolation and has tested negative for COVID-19, he will be transferred back to New Zealand where he will undergo the mandatory 14-day period of managed isolation.

"It's really unfortunate for Tim and we'll do everything for him that we can from this end, and hopefully he will be able to test negative and be cleared and approved for discharge as soon as he's well again.

Since receiving the news, we've organised support for Tim and have also - via the players association, been in contact with his family to ensure they're kept fully informed and updated on developments."
