CSK roped in Hardus Viljoen as net bowler
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to commence on 9th April at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Most of the fans were excited to see IPL in India as the previous season held was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Coming to the point, Chennai Super Kings which is one of the most loved teams among the cricket fans has roped the South African pacer Hardus Viljoen who was seen by the fans during the nets session video released the franchise.
Earlier this month, the skipper of the team, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina joined the CSK training camp ahead of the IPL 2021. They didn't have a great outing in the last season as the Dhoni-led side finished at the 7th position on the table, just above Rajasthan Royals.
Speaking about Hardus Viljoen, he previously played for Punjab Kings in IPL 2020 and registered his name in the Auction which held in February. His name was not called during the auction but CSK management roped the speedster at his base price of INR 50 lakh. Here is the picture of Hardus Viljoen in CSK camp:
The yellow army made a comeback in 2018 when they had suspended for two years along with Rajasthan Royals and won the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They did very well in the following season but unfortunately lost the finals against the Rohit-led Mumbai Indians franchise.
In the 13th season, they almost outplayed the opposition teams on many occasions due to their lack of consistency and form with the bat. Faf du Plessis was the only batsman who scored at an average of well above 40 including four fifties to his name.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see the comeback of MS Dhoni and his men as they going to play their first match against Delhi Capitals on 10th April at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
