"He is all fit and joined the squad" - CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan

One of the greatest captains of all-time MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will kick off their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener on 26th March, Saturday.

They had an issue in the opening slot when Ruturaj Gaikwad has been injured. However, according to the reports, the right-handed batsman has cleared the fitness test and is available right from the first match for Chennai Super Kings.

Moreover, the Dhoni-led army had other headaches in the place of Deepak Chahar who is not recovered yet and the English all-rounder Moeen Ali who is yet to get the visa to get featured in the Indian Premier League.

Despite that, it is clear that Ruturaj Gaikwad will open the innings with Devon Conway and will be looking to get some runs from his bat.

He is available for selection: Viswanathan

The CEO of the Chennai Super Kings Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed the availability of Ruturaj Gaikwad and told InsideSport, "Yes, Ruturaj is all fit. He has joined the squad and has begun practice. He is available for selection."

Moreover, as Deepak Chahar is also not available for the first few games, the CEO of CSK has also shared a few words about the pacer and said, "We don’t know about Deepak Chahar. He is at the NCA and recovering from the injury.

Once the National Cricket Academy gives him the all-clear, only then he will be able to join the squad. But we don’t know when that will happen. We are yet to get any update from the NCA."

"We have no update on Moeen Ali. He is still waiting for his visa and as soon as he gets that, he will board the flight. We are hopeful that he will be available for the first match but it will depend on his visa," he added.
