Here is Rohit Sharma's salary after becoming full-time limited-overs captain

On December 8th, Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced Rohit Sharma as the limited-overs skipper and Virat Kohli will lead the side in the longest format of the game.

Virat Kohli has already talked about his decision of stepping down from the leadership of T20I. However, the BCCI tweet stated, "The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Mr Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20I teams going forward." 

The decision was revealed while announcing the 18-member Test squad ahead of the three-match Test series against the Proteas which is going to commence on 26th December, Sunday. But Virat Kohli was not happy with the decision as he wanted to lead India in both ODIs and Tests which he concluded during the T20 World Cup 2021.

The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly has thrown some clarifications of having two different captains in the limited-overs format.

Considering the reports from Timesnownews, "It’s a call that the BCCI and the selectors took together. Actually, the BCCI had requested Virat to not step down as the T20I skipper but obviously, he did not agree. And the selectors then did not feel it right to have two different captains for two white-ball formats."

"So, it was decided that Virat will continue as Test captain and Rohit will take over as the white-ball captain. I as President personally spoke to Virat Kohli and the chairman of selectors has also spoken to him.

We have full faith in Rohit Sharma’s leadership abilities, and Virat will continue as the Test captain. We as BCCI are confident that Indian cricket is in good hands. We thank Virat Kohli for his contributions as captain in the white-ball format," BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said as quoted in Timesnownews.

Moreover, considering the reports from GQ, there will be no change in Rohit Sharma's salary as the Indian captain as he will continue to get the sum of INR 7 crore with an A+ contract given by the BCCI.
